Dr. Ann's Healthy Spaghetti Recipe

Dr. Ann and her Family all adore this recipe. Go spaghetti!


1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 medium yellow onion, chopped
1 (8-oz) container sliced baby bella mushrooms
2 tbs EVOO
Multigrain (Barilla Plus) spaghetti noodles
96% lean ground beef or ground turkey breast
½ (6-oz) can tomato paste
1 (29-oz) can tomato sauce (Hunt’s)
1 tsp balsamic vinegar
2 fresh garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped


In a large skillet, sauté bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms in EVOO until soft. Turn heat up to medium/high and add ground beef or turkey and cook until browned. Stir in tomato paste, tomato sauce, and balsamic vinegar. Bring to gentle boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Stir in garlic and parsley just before serving over al dente spaghetti noodles
