Thanks to Cornell’s new Global Healthy Weight Registry, we are now privy to the “secrets of the forever slim.” The registry was created to survey and document the diet and lifestyle behaviors of adults who have maintained a trim and healthy body weight over their entire lives. Here are a handful of facts from the lifestyles of the lean that I found particularly noteworthy:

  • 74% rarely diet
  • 65% eat vegetables at every dinner meal
  • 33% never drink alcohol
  • 61% report chicken as their favorite meat
  • 69% exercise 3 -7 days a week
  • Fruits, vegetables, and eggs are the top daily breakfast foods
  • Fruits and nuts are the top snacks
