The total number of known chemicals used intentionally in the packaging, storage, and processing of our foods exceeds 4,000 and the standard toxicology analysis required to be performed on them does not evaluate their capacity to disrupt our hormones.
So play it safe and eat Mother Nature’s REAL foods and avoid man-made processed foods. (Epidemiology and Community Health, 2014 DOI 10.1136/jech-2013-202593)
Here’s a recipe comprised of REAL food, one of my favorites from the garden:
Everyone, even small children, love this dish. It is definitely one of my personal favorites!
2 cans black beans (GOYA best), rinsed
1 small can shoepeg corn, rinsed
1 bunch of fresh cilantro, chopped
Juice of 1 lime
Very liberal splash or two of seasoned rice vinegar (or more to taste)
2-3 Tbls olive oil
1 red bell pepper, diced
½ red onion, chopped
1 seeded cucumber, diced
Salt & Pepper to taste
Dash of Tabasco (optional)
Mix all ingredients together in a large salad bowl and let sit for a bit to let flavors marry.
