Why Turkey is so Good for You

It is turkey time and this delicious protein is one of the most nutritious and economical of all animal proteins.  Turkey is an excellent source of several key nutrients including B vitamins, selenium, and zinc and offers one of the easiest ways to get in a hefty dose of protein without the burden of excessive fat and calories.  Three ounces of skinless turkey breast provides 26 grams of protein, 115 calories and just 2 grams of saturated fat.  For perspective, 3 ounces of extra lean (95%) ground beef provides 22 grams of protein, 145 calories, and 2.4 grams of saturated fat.
