There are now a host of milk alternatives available in the standard grocer including oat milk, rice milk, coconut milk, and almond milk, among others. Although these “milk alternatives” can be a convenient substitute for those who cannot drink cow’s milk or soy milk, they are comparatively nutritional weaklings, particularly in their protein content. 1% or organic skim cow’s milk or plain organic soy milk have a far superior overall nutritional profile and are always my top choice for health.
