The Best Foods for Breast Health and Prostate Health

men and women breast prostate

Today I want to share something specifically for women, as well as something specifically for men, namely the best foods for breast health and the best foods for prostate health.

Both breast cancer and prostate cancer risk are significantly impacted by the foods we eat, so it goes without saying that this is information you should be sure to note!

Ladies, for optimizing breast health, be sure these foods make their way into your grocery cart and on your plate often!

  • Beans, peas, or lentils – any variety in any form
  • Cruciferous veggies – broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, kale, cauliflower, watercress, and broccoli sprouts
  • Carotenoid-rich vegetables – dark leafy greens, carrots, tomatoes, bell peppers, winter squash, sweet potatoes, and canned 100% pumpkin
  • Oily fish like salmon, tuna, trout and sardines; and
  • Whole soy foods – soy milk, tofu, tempeh, roasted soy nuts/edamame

Men, for optimizing prostate health, be sure these foods make their way into your grocery cart often!

  • Canned or bottled tomato products, especially tomato paste
  • Whole soy foods – soy milk, tofu, tempeh, roasted soy nuts/edamame
  • Cruciferous veggies – broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, kale, cauliflower, watercress and broccoli spouts
  • Brazil nuts; and
  • Berries – any variety, in any form

I’m excited to share that I’m creating my next e-course, The Healthy Kitchen Makeover, and doing so in collaboration with my older daughter, Liz. She is a seasoned kitchen and cooking whiz who is honestly far more talented with all things culinary, thus why I have invited her to take part along with yours truly.

This course is designed to boost your confidence in the kitchen and to show you that preparing healthy meals can be simple, easy, fast, and delicious. Liz and I will give you soup-to-nuts (pun intended) guidance on exactly what foods should be in your kitchen and what foods should stay out.

We will also cover common misconceptions that keep people out of the kitchen, essential tools to increase the efficiency and pleasure of meal preparation, gadgets to up your culinary game, properly stocking your spice cabinet, and must-have flavor-boosting pantry items.

The ultra-practical and comprehensive guidance in this course promises to move you beyond the realm of fast food, processed foods, take-out, and frozen dinners and into your own kitchen where you can experience the joy that comes from preparing healthy meals for yourself and those you love.

Stay on the lookout for the course release in late spring!
