The best foods for breast health and prostate health are in!

I want to share something specifically for women, as well as something specifically for men: namely the best foods for breast health and the best foods for prostate health.

Both breast cancer and prostate cancer risk are significantly impacted by the foods we eat, so it goes without saying that this is information you should be sure to note! 

Ladies, for optimizing breast health, be sure these foods make their way into your grocery cart and on your plate often! 

  • Beans, peas, or lentils – any variety in any form
  • Cruciferous veggies – broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, kale, cauliflower, watercress, and broccoli sprouts
  • Carotenoid-rich vegetables – dark leafy greens, carrots, tomatoes, bell peppers, winter squash, sweet potatoes, and canned 100% pumpkin
  • Oily fish like salmon, tuna, trout and sardines; and finally
  • Whole soy foods – soy milk, tofu, tempeh, roasted soy nuts/edamame    

Men, for optimizing prostate health, be sure these foods make their way into your grocery cart often! 

  • Canned or bottled tomato products, especially tomato paste
  • Whole soy foods – soy milk, tofu, tempeh, roasted soy nuts/edamame
  • Cruciferous veggies – broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, kale, cauliflower, watercress and broccoli spouts; Brazil nuts; and
  • Berries – any variety, in any form
