Pancreatic Cancer and Diet – Soda and Pancreatic Cancer – Pancreatic Cancer Causes

Pancreatic cancer is one of the most deadly of all types of cancer and a jolting new report revealed a strong association between very modest intakes of soda and this lethal cancer.

Investigators followed 60,524 adults over a 14 year period and found those who consumed two or more sodas per week were 87% more likely to develop pancreatic cancer than those who didn’t drink soda.  (Epidemiology, Biomarkers, and Prevention, Feb 2010) The high levels of sugar in soda put enormous stress on the insulin producing cells within the pancreas which provides a biologically plausible explanation for these findings.

If you want to see a world class childhood obesity expert deliver a passionate and brilliant lecture that details the “bitter truth” about the excessive intakes of sugar in modern American diets, watch this video.
