Your Coffee May Make You Healthier

Based on a growing and impressive volume of science, drinking coffee may come with a number of powerful health benefits including: liver cancer protection, diabetes protection and a lower risk of Parkinson’s disease. Thanks to this report, another healthy coffee perk may be protection from prostate cancer.

In a study that included 48,000 men whose coffee drinking habits were monitored over a 22 year period, those who drank six or more cups a day were 20% less likely to develop prostate cancer vs. those who didn’t drink coffee. Even more compelling, the researchers found that those who drank the most coffee were 60% less likely to develop advanced (deadly) prostate cancer. Even for those who included modest amounts (1-3 cups a day), the risk of lethal prostate cancer decreased by 30%. (Journal of the National Cancer Institute, online May 2011)

Cheers to that!
